A gold-plated chain necklace of “Peonies and Butterflies” c. 1900 by de Longpré miniaturized as a pendant. This 24-inch necklace also features a citrine-colored briolette and a delicate glass pearl bead. The back of the tile has been painted in a sparkly gold finish.
Artist Trivia: Born in France in 1855, Paul de Longpré worked mainly in the United States and was entirely self-taught. His floral paintings are technically perfect but also manage to express the beauty of his subjects.
