Ah, the Forest City. Most people aren’t aware that Cleveland was the original Forest City. In the late 1830’s, a Frenchman named Alexis de Tocqueville visited the United States to study this new democracy. In visiting Cleveland, Tocqueville was amazed at the complex city that seemingly came out of nowhere from the forests that surrounded it.
